i'll be home for christmas
the final weeks of school are hurtling towards me like a freight train. after a short thanksgiving break i have 5 papers to write and a big exam to study for. so far i am doing pretty well as far as grades go and hopefully the trend will continue. i really need a job and health insurance at this point, so if you have any charitable holiday donations to make keep me in mind.
for all of you nashville people, i will be in lousyanna for christmas and then in nashville from the 28th through the 3rd. start planning new years revelry now; i expect fireworks, fire, booze, and friends to be a prevalent theme for the week that i am there. be prepared. call bosco's and tell them that i am coming home and that the IPA and the HopGod (hopefully) will need to be stocked because the beer will flow like the salmon of san capistrano upon my arrival.
thanksgiving was good. we ate some turkey and then went and saw the departed. if you haven't seen it go, it is good.
after the movie tracy, myself and some of our friends went out to a house that tracy is house sitting for the next week, but when we got there at 11pm and went into the house (remember there are 6 of us) something unexpected happened. tracy had trouble with the lock so being the gentleman that i am i took over and opened the door for her. i was the first into the pitch black house, followed by tracy and as i walked in i heard "hello" to my right. as it turns out the people she was house sitting for weren't leaving until the next day and we woke them up and walked in to find them, in their pj's, wondering what the hell a bunch of twenty somethings with wine in tow were doing at their house. my friends quickly scurried back to the car while tracy began profusely apologizing for the intrusion.
i have to admit that seeing a large 50 year old fireman in his boxers as i walked into the house was pretty frightening, especially since you never really expect to see that sort of thing during the course of your life. i started to reach for my trusty pocket knife and assume an offensive stabbing position until i realized that it was the home owner and i probably shouldn't stab him. while his wife, tracy's friend, was shouting "tomorrow, tracy, tomorrow!! we're not leaving until tomorrow!". it was really embarrassing for tracy, but for everyone else it was a priceless moment that will be mocked and laughed about for a long time to come.
luckily these people are pretty cool and i think (hope) they got a good laugh out of it as well. unfortunately tracy will live with the shame of such a massive mistake for a while, hopefully for a long while.

Unless you have completely forsaken Texas, don't say you'll be home for Christmas.
Speaking of Texas...good thing you didn't invade that home here. *BOOM* head shot!
