pure madness

if you know me at all, you know that the ncaa tournament is a top priority for me every year. there is no better sporting event, trust me you cannot even argue with this. everything else pales in comparison. these kids have nothing but glory to win, there's no ridiculous paycheck to cash when you lose, and they play with more heart than anyone i've ever seen.
vandy and aTm are still dancin' (to use my friend JPK's term). and i couldn't be happier. the only problem is whether or not i actually get to see a game this year.
first, whoever scheduled me to be in class the first weekend of the tournament is an idiot. i know i registered for the class, but this goes deeper. seriously don't schedule classes during march, it's bad for morale. second, my friends who scheduled their wedding during the second weekend of the tournament. trust me, i'm really happy for you guys, but really? show a little consideration. i'm definitely going to miss the vandy game friday (it may be their last), and i'll probably miss the aTm game as well. thanks life. not to mention the other 6 games that will all be at least interesting and probably phenomenal.
to top it all off i have a giant research paper that i can barely even motivate myself to write. are you allowed to drop out of school for a month?
watch the games. listen to the announcers. feel the energy.
i hope someone gets to enjoy this.
there is a light at the end of the tunnel. my friend jamie and i have plans to watch the final four, hopefully with some beer and pie.
and at the end one team will have it's one shining moment courtesy or mr. luther vandross--if you don't at least tear up a little when you hear "the ball is tipped...", you are less than human.
