vacation, all i ever wanted

friday marked the last paper i had to turn in for the spring semester. i must admit it is a glorious feeling to be done with another term of graduate school. the good news is that i have a whole week before the summer term begins. TLK is not so lucky, she has to turn in another paper and will have about 4 days off from school during which she has to begin assignments for the next term. ugh. i don't know if i could handle that right now, but she's much tougher than i am.
lots of changes this semester. i have begun to realize that i carry quite a presence wherever i go. not only am i a big man, but i have a large personality as well. this is a responsibility that i am only now able to take on. before i didn't want to admit that i was important and that people not only believed what i had to say, but appreciated it as well. i have spent so much of the last 6 years thinking that i was insignificant that this is pretty revolutionary for me. i am trying to live into the person that i have always been, but have never known to exist. depression really blurs the reality of who you are.
i guess that pretty much sums up my MHGS experience: i am learning who i am. not that i was completely clueless before, but i have a better understanding of what is and what isn't true about me. i used to believe mostly the false things. but the truth is being revealed and i like it, even though it's not always easy.
now that things have slowed down i should be back to regular posting here. today however, i am ushering in the golden age of cleanliness (golden refrain sounds), so i must continue, it's time for phase 3.
faith. hope. love.
