merry christmas
only a few days of shopping left.
i haven't done any shopping myself. due to a lack of funds and a desire to avoid any shopping mayhem i have decided once again not to give presents this year. however, i have thought of a gift that is (in my humble opinion) much better than something material--i am writing letters to my family. this idea came to me in my poverty, but also out of a desire to say things to those people that i love that i have either never said, or have never said well. it has already been a wonderful process. for example, deciding what to say to my grandfather and how to express how thankful i am and how much i love him for what he has done for me and my family. think about it...how valuable would something like that be to someone that you have a hard time communicating with in the first place? i hope that it will spark a letter writing revolution in my family, who has always had difficulty expressing emotions in an appropriate way.
i will fly to lousyanna sunday night and be with the fam for a few days, then it's off to nashville for a wedding and new year's with friends.
i hope all of you loyal psycho logist readers have a great christmas and a happy new year.
